Why is my cryptocurrency send delayed?
Coinbase may delay cryptocurrency transactions sent from your Coinbase account for security purposes and to ensure your account is safe.
If you DID NOT authorize the transaction:
-
You can cancel it at any time during the delay period
AND -
You should also disable sign-in on your Coinbase account using the link in the delay notification email (this will also cancel the transaction).
If you DID authorize the transaction:
- Take no action and the transaction will complete within 72 hours.
OR - From the Coinbase website, use the "Accelerate Withdrawal" button to complete ID verification, including a photo taken of your face. This step must be completed to accelerate every single delayed withdrawal or send, despite having an approved ID upload and selfie. Once completed, your transaction will be sent.
OR - Use the Cancel button to cancel the transaction if you no longer wish to withdraw or send. You can create a new transaction to an email or cryptocurrency address that you have sent to previously
Please contact us if you ever see any suspicious activity on your account.
When uploading your photo ID:
- Use the Chrome browser to complete the verification
- Ensure that your document is valid and not expired, without hole punches or other modifications
- Ensure your document is in a well-lit area without glare. Natural sunlight is best
- Photograph the entire document and avoid cutting off any corners or sides
- Ensure the ID is fully visible and in focus
- Make sure the app or program you use to take the pictures does not add any logos or watermarks
- Do not obscure any information on the ID
